GUIDELINES/REQUIREMENTS FOR PHARMACY TECHNICIANS

Effective January 30, 1999, all pharmacy technicians within the state of Minnesota must be registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. In addition, pharmacy technicians are required to be at least 16 years of age, and be knowledgeable of the pharmacy practice laws/rules regarding duties that they can and cannot perform. These guidelines are intended to assist you in becoming knowledgeable about Minnesota Pharmacy Practice Laws/Rules which apply to you. They are not intended to be all inclusive. Read the pharmacy technician policies & procedures provided by the pharmacist-in-charge at your pharmacy. (A copy should have been given to you and must be available upon inspection by the Board.)
